Karamürsel adalah sebuah kota dan distrik yang terletak di barat laut Turki, di provinsi Kocaeli. Kota tersebut dipimpin oleh wali kota İsmail Yıldırım.
Karamürsel terletak di teluk Izmit dan mempunyai garis pantai yang indah. Kota tersebut terkenal dengan keranjang yang disebut keranjang Karamürsel, yang biasanya digunakan untuk mengumpulkan buah-buahan. Keranjang buatan tangan ini mempunyai karakter unik karena terlihat kecil saat dipandang, tetap sebenarnya mempunyai kapasitas yang lebih besar dari yang dibayangkan.
Karamürsel juga merupakan kota penting bagi Angkatan Laut Turki, karena Kekaisaran Ottoman pertama kali meresmikan armadanya pada tahun 1323 di kota tersebut. Hal tersebut menjadi fondasi bagi Angkatan Laut Ottoman yang kemudian mendominasi wilayah Mediterania selama beberapa abad.
