Katak-pohon Eropa (Hyla arborea)

Katak pohon adalah spesies katak apapun yang menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya di pohon, dikenal sebagai keadaan arboreal.[1] Beberapa garis keturunan katak pada subordo Neobatrachia telah menghasilkan katak pohon, meski mereka tidak berkerabat dekat dengan satu sama lain.

Jutaan tahun evolusi konvergen telah menghasilkan morfologi yang sangat mirip, bahkan pada spesies-spesies yang tidak berkerabat dekat.[2] Katak pohon pada lingkungan yang kering secara musiman telah mengembangkan lapisan lipid dan lendir ekstra-epidermal sebagai sebuah respons konvergen evolusioner untuk mengakomodasi tekanan dari dehidrasi secara berkala.
