Katedral Hati Kudus[1][2] juga disebut Katedral Freetown, adalah sebuah gereja katedral Katolik yang terletak di jalan Howe di kota Freetown,[3] ibu kota dan kota terpadat di Sierra Leone.[4][5]
Konstruksi
Pengerjaan pembangunannya dimulai pada bulan November 1884 dan diresmikan pada tanggal 27 Oktober 1887.[6]
Katedral ini mengikuti ritus Romawi atau Latin dan berfungsi sebagai pusat kedudukan dan takhta bagi Keuskupan Agung Metropolitan Freetown (Archidioecesis liberae Urbis) yang diciptakan oleh Paus Paulus VI oleh bulla "Quantum boni" . Katedral ini adalah salah satu dari empat katedral Katolik yang ada di negara tersebut, dan katedral lainnya didedikasikan untuk "Hati Maria Tak Bernoda" di Bo, untuk "Santo Paulus" di Kenema dan "Bunda Maria dari Fatima" di Makeni.
Katedral ini berada di bawah tanggung jawab pastoral Uskup Agung Edward Tamba Charles.
