Kaum Makabe
Makabe atau kaum Makabe (bahasa Ibrani: מכבים atau מקבים, transliterasi: Maqabim; bahasa Latin: Machabi atau Machado; bahasa Yunani: Μακκαβαῖοι, transliterasi: Makkabaioi), adalah para pemimpin pasukan pemberontak Yahudi yang mengambil alih Yudea, yang pada saat itu telah menjadi provinsi Kekaisaran Seleukia. Mereka membentuk Dinasti Hashmonayim, yang memerintah dari tahun 164 sampai 63 SM. Mereka menegaskan kembali agama Yahudi, sebagian dengan cara konversi paksa, memperluas batas-batas Yudea dengan cara penaklukan dan pengurangan pengaruh Helenisasi dan Yudaisme Helenistik.
