Kea (Nestor notabilis) adalah spesies bayan (famili Psittacidae) unik yang ditemukan di wilayah berhutan dan alpen Pulau Selatan Selandia Baru. Kea adalah satu-satunya dari sedikit bayan alpen yang diketahui di dunia, sehingga kotoran dari pola makannya yang omnivora umumnya terdiri dari akar-akaran, dedaunan, biji, nektar dan serangga. Hal yang tidak biasa saat ini, Kea sekali-kali dibunuh untuk penghargaan saat hewan ini berburu pada peternakan, khususnya domba, sedangkan perlindungan secara penuh hanya terlaksana pada tahun 1986.[2]
