Kleisthenes

Kleisthenes (bahasa Yunani: Κλεισθένης, disebut juga Klisthenes) adalah bangsawan Athena dari keluarga Alkmaionid. Dia terkenal karena mereformasi konstitusi Athena kuno dan menetapkan dasar bagi demokrasi Athena pada tahun 508/7 SM.[1] Karena itu para sejarawan terkadang menyebutnya "Bapak Demokrasi Athena."[2] Dia juga disebutkan meningkatkan kekuasaan majelis Athena dan mengurangi kekuasaan para bangsawan Athena.[3]
