Kogoro Akechi adalah nama tokoh utama dalam novel misteri yang pertama di Jepang yang diciptakan oleh Edogawa Ranpo dalam novel detektifnya. Cerita ini dibuatnya pada tahun 1925-1955 yaitu pada saat berlangsungnya Perang Dunia Kedua. Karena itulah Edogawa Ranpo sering disebut sebagai novelis Perang Dunia Kedua. Dan nama Kogoro Mouri yang muncul dalam Detektif Conan merupakan penggalan nama dari Kogoro Akechi, sebab Aoyama Gosho sangat mengidolakan Edogawa Ranpo. Banyak nama toko serta nama Ranpo sendiri yang di tampilkan dikomiknya.
