Kosmos 26

Kosmos 26 (Rusia: Космос 26 berarti Cosmos 26), juga dikenal sebagai DS-MG No.1 adalah satelit demonstrasi teknologi yang diluncurkan oleh Uni Soviet pada tahun 1964 sebagai bagian dari program Dnepropetrovsk Sputnik. Misi utamanya adalah untuk menunjukkan sistem listrik orientasi Gyrodyne. Hal ini juga membawa paket penelitian magnetosfer sebagai muatan sekunder.

Ini diluncurkan dengan roket Kosmos-2I 63S1 dari pad 2 dari Launch Complex Mayak di Kapustin Yar. Peluncuran terjadi pada 15:07 UTC pada tanggal 18 Maret 1964.

Kosmos 26 ditempatkan ke dalam orbit Bumi rendah dengan perigee dari 268 kilometer (167 mil), sebuah apogee dari 376 kilometer (234 mil), 48.9 derajat kemiringan, dan periode orbit 91 menit. Meluruh decay dari orbit pada tanggal 28 September 1964. Kosmos 26 adalah yang pertama dari dua satelit DS-MG yang akan diluncurkan, yang lainnya adalah Kosmos 49.
