Di musik, kuartet atau quartette[1][2] (bahasa Prancis: quatuor, bahasa Jerman: Quartett, bahasa Italia: quartetto, bahasa Spanyol: cuarteto, bahasa Polandia: kwartet) adalah sebuah ansambel musik yang terdiri atas empat alat musik gesek, biasanya 2 biola, sebuah viola dan selo atau karya musik yang dikarang untuk dimainkan oleh kelompok musikal.

Komposer kuartet gesek terkenal adalah Joseph Haydn (68 komposisi), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (23), Ludwig van Beethoven (17), Felix Mendelssohn (6), Franz Schubert (15), Johannes Brahms (3), Antonín Dvořák (14), Alexander Borodin (2), Béla Bartók (6), dan Dmitri Shostakovich (15).[3] Komposer Italia Luigi Boccherini (1743–1805), menulis lebih dari 100 kuartet gesek.
