Kultivasi diri
Kultivasi diri atau kultivasi pribadi (Hanzi: 修身; Pinyin: xiūshēn; Wade–Giles: hsiu-shen; harfiah: 'mengembangkan diri sendiri') adalah pengembangan pikiran atau kapasitas seseorang melalui upaya mandiri.[1] Pengembangan diri merupakan upaya membudidayakan, mengintegrasikan, dan mengoordinasikan pikiran serta tubuh. Meskipun pengembangan diri dapat dipraktikkan dan diterapkan sebagai bentuk terapi kognitif dalam psikoterapi, konsep ini melampaui sekadar penyembuhan dan swabantu karena juga mencakup pengembangan diri, peningkatan diri, dan aktualisasi diri. Hal ini diasosiasikan dengan upaya untuk melampaui dan memahami keadaan normal manusia, meningkatkan serta mengasah kapasitas diri, serta mengembangkan atau mengungkapkan potensi manusia yang bersifat bawaan.[2]
Pengembangan diri juga merujuk pada model filosofis dalam Mohisme, Konfusianisme, Taoisme, dan filsafat Tionghoa lainnya, serta dalam Filsafat Yunani Kuno, dan merupakan komponen penting dari nilai-nilai etika Asia Timur yang mapan. Meskipun istilah ini berlaku untuk tradisi budaya dalam Konfusianisme dan Taoisme, tujuan serta aspirasi pengembangan diri dalam tradisi-tradisi tersebut sangatlah berbeda.[3]
