Larnaks
Larnaks (Larnax, jamak: larnakes; bahasa Yunani Kuno: λάρναξ, lárnaks, jamak: λάρνακες, lárnakes) adalah jenis peti mati tertutup, kotak atau "peti-abu" yang sering digunakan sebagai wadah untuk mayat manusia di peradaban Minoan dan di Yunani Kuno, baik dalam bentuk jasad (dalam posisi membungkuk) atau sudah dalam bentuk abu kremasi.
Larnaks pertama muncul pada periode Minoan peradaban Aegean, ketika itu bentuknya seperti pundi-pundi keramik yang dirancang untuk meniru peti kayu, mungkin seperti pola peti linen Mesir. Larnaks umumnya dihiasi dengan pola abstrak, gurita, adegan berburu dan ritual pemujaan.[1]
Raja Philip II dari Makedonia, ayahanda Alexander yang Agung diketahui juga menggunakan larnaks sebagai tempat jasadnya.[2]
