Lega Pro Prima Divisione atau yang sebelum tahun 2008 bernama Serie C1 adalah nama kompetisi sepak bola tertinggi ketiga di Italia. Terdiri dari 36 tim, dan dibagi menjadi dua grup dengan masing-masing grup ditempati 18 tim.
Sebelum 1978-79, hanya ada 3 kompetisi di Italia, yaitu Serie A, Serie B, dan Serie C. Pada tahun 1978, Serie C dipisah menjadi Serie C1 dan Serie C2, yang merupakan kompetisi tertinggi keempat di sistem kompetisi
sepak bola profesional Italia. Pertandiangan dimainkan dalam 34 laga yang dibagi dalam dua paruh, di mana setiap lawan dihadapi dua kali dengan sistem kandang tandang.
Promosi dan degradasi
Pada setiap grup, dua tim mendapat promosi otomatis ke Serie B, dan tiga tim terbawah degradasi ke Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Total 4 tim mendapat promosi ke Serie B dan 6 tim memperoleh degradasi ke Seconda Divisione.
Tim yang menduduki peringkat pertama dalam klasemen akhir langsung promosi ke Serie B, sementara tim yang menempati urutan kedua hingga kelima dipertemukan dalam pertandingan play-off untuk memperebutkan satu tiket sisa pada setiap grup dengan time urutan 2 bertemu tim urutan 5, dan tim urutan 3 bertemu tim urutan 4. Sistem play-off yang digunakan adalah kandang tandang. Pada babak pertama (semi final) jika agregat skor imbang setelah dua laga, tim dengan urutan lebih tinggi otomatis lolos tanpa perpanjangan waktu atau adu penalti dan sistem gol tandang tidak dipakai. Sedangkan pada babak final, perpanjangan waktu digunakan jika setelah laga kandang dan tandang skor tetap imbang namun tidak ada adu penalti. Jika skor masih sama setelah perpanjangan waktu, tim dengan urutan lebih tinggi keluar sebagai pemenang dan promosi ke Serie B.
Tim yang menduduki peringkat terakhir setiap grup otomatis degradasi ke Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Sedangkan tim urutan 14-17 dipertemukan dalam babak play-off untuk menghindari degradasi. Pertandingan play-off degradasi hanya berlangsung dalam satu babak dengan sistem kandang tandanag. Tim urutan 14 dipertemukan dengan tim urutan 17, dan tim urutan 15 dengan tim urutan 16. Tim yang kalah dalam dua pertandingan tersebut akan degradasi ke Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, sedangkan pemenangnya bertahan di Lega Pro Prima Divisione.
