Leonard Melki
Leonard Melki (4 Oktober 1881 – 11 Juni 1915) adalah seorang anggota Kapusin dan misionaris di tempat yang sekarang disebut Turki yang ditangkap, disiksa, dan menjadi martir oleh pasukan Kekaisaran Ottoman pada tahun 1915. Melki diberi pilihan: masuk Islam dan dibebaskan, atau mati sebagai Kristen. Menolak untuk murtad, ia dipaksa untuk berbaris dengan lebih dari 400 tahanan Kristen ke padang pasir, di mana ia dibunuh "dalam kebencian terhadap iman" pada 11 Juni 1915. Bersama dengan Thomas Saleh, ia dibeatifikasi pada 4 Juni 2022 oleh Kardinal Marcello Semeraro di Biara Salib di Jal el Dib, di luar ibu kota Beirut, Lebanon.[1]
