Lomas di Taman Nasional Lachay

Lomas (bahasa Spanyol: Lomas; "bukit"), juga disebut oasis kabut atau oasis halimun, adalah area vegetasi berkabut di gurun pesisir Peru dan Chili utara. Sekitar 100 lomas di dekat Samudra Pasifik diidentifikasi antara 5°S dan 30°LS, jarak utara-selatan sekitar 2.800 kilometer (1.700 mil). Ukuran Lomas berkisar dari area bervegetasi kecil hingga lebih dari 40.000 hektar (99.000 hektar), flora yang tumbuh disana juga mencakup banyak spesies endemik. Selain daerah lembah sungai dan lomas, gurun di pesisir hampir tidak ditumbuhi vegetasi apa pun. Para ahli telah menggambarkan lomas sebagai "sebuah pulau vegetasi di lautan gurun."[1]
