Margot Fonteyn (Lahir: Reigate, Surrey, Inggris 18 Mei 1919. Meninggal: Panama, 21 February 1991) adalah seorang balerina berkebangsaan Inggris.[1][2] Margot Fonteyn bernama asli Margaret Hookham, setelah menikah namanya berubah menjadi Margot Fonteyn de Arias.[2]

Margot Foteyn mempelajari seni tari di Hong Kong kemudian di London bersama Serafima Astafieve di Sekolah Balet Saddler's Walls.[2] Debut pertamanya dimulai pada tahun 1934 bersama Vic-Wells Ballet. Pada tahun 1935, salah satu anggota Vic-Wells, Alicia Markova, keluar dari grup dan Margot Fonteyn mengambil alih peran-peran klasiknya, termasuk dalam Giselle.[2] Margot Fonteyn akhirnya menjadi penari utama dalam Vic-Wells Ballet.[2] Pada tahun 1939, Margot Fonteyn menari sebagai peran Puteri Aurora dari dongeng "Puteri Tidur" (bahasa Inggris: The Sleeping Beauty).[2]

Pada tahun 1956, grup ballet Saddler Wells ini berganti nama menjadi Royal Ballet.[1] Margot Fonteyn mendapatkan beberapa penghargaan seperti CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), dan DBE (Dame of the order of the British Empire).[1] Pada tahun 1954, Margot Fonteyn diserahi jabatan sebagai presiden dari Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD).[1]
