Marie-Gabrielle Capet (6 September 1761 – 1 November 1818) adalah seorang pelukis Neoklasik Prancis. Ia lahir di Lyon pada 6 September 1761. Marie-Gabrielle berasal dari latar belakang sederhana dan latar belakang serta pelatihan artistiknya sebelumnya tidak diketahui, tetapi pada 1781 ia menjadi murid pelukis Prancis Adelaide Labille-Guiard di Paris. Dia unggul sebagai pelukis potret, dan karyanya meliputi lukisan cat minyak, cat air dan miniatur.[1]

Kehidupan awal

Marie-Gabrielle Capet lahir di Lyon pada tahun 1761. Di masa mudanya, Capet menghadiri sekolah menggambar umum yang terletak di kotanya.[2] Pada tahun 1781, Capet yang berusia dua puluh tahun pindah ke Paris untuk menjadi murid Adélaïde Labille-Guiard (1749–1803), seorang seniman Neoklasik.
