Martin Majoor
Martin Majoor (lahir 14 Oktober 1960) adalah seorang tipografer (desainer huruf) dan desainer grafis yang berasal dari Belanda. Ia memulai kariernya sebagai desainer huruf pada tahun 1985, ketika ia kuliah di the School of Fine Arts in Arnhem (1980-1986). Ia sempat magang di URW di Hamburg, Jerman, disinilah ia pertama kali merancang rupa huruf digitalnya dengan sistem Ikarus. Karya pertamanya ini diberi nama Serré (1984), tetapi sayangnya, rupa huruf ini tidak pernah di rilis.
Pada tahun 1986 ia mulai bekerja sebagai desainer huruf di Departemen Penelitian & Pengembangan, Océ, Belanda, di sini ia melakukan penelitian tentang screenfont (huruf yang tampil di layar monitor). Untuk memperdalam pengetahuannya tentang produksi huruf digital untuk laser printer, ia megikuti pendidikan singkat di Bitstream di Boston.
Setelah sempat bekerja di Pusat Musik Vredenburg di Utrecht, Majoor memulai kariernya sebagai perancang huruf / desainer huruf independen dan tipografer buku. Sejak saat itu ia menciptakan beberapa rupa huruf dan keluarganya, seperti FF Scala dan FF Seria.
Dari 1990 sampai 1995, ia mengajar mata kuliah tipografi di the Schools of Fine Arts in Arnhem dan di Breda. Ia juga memberi kuliah di ATypI / Typelab konferensi di Budapest, Antwerpen, Paris, San Francisco, Barcelona, Den Haag dan Praha, serta TypoBerlin (2002 dan 2005).
