Mary Katherine Bryan (13 Februari 1877 – 22 Februari 1962) merupakan seorang ahli botani dan ahli fitopatologi asal Amerika Serikat.[1] Sebagian besar penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Bryan berfokus pada penyebab bercak daun dan pembusukan pada tanaman tomat yang disebabkan oleh bakteri.[2][3] Bryan melakukan penelitian mengenai tomato canker dan penyakit lain sejenis yang dapat merusak hasil pertanian dan memengaruhi ketahanan tanaman..[4]

Kehidupan dan Karier

Bryan lahir di Prince George's County, Maryland, pada 13 Februari 1877. Ia meraih gelar sarjana dari Universitas Stanford pada tahun 1908.[5] Bryan kemudian bekerja di Bureau of Plant Industry, Departemen Pertanian Amerika Serikat, sebagai asisten ilmiah dan asisten patologi dari tahun 1909 hingga 1918.[6]

Selama kariernya, Bryan bekerja bersama Nellie A. Brown di bawah bimbingan Erwin Frink Smith, yang merupakan seorang ahli dalam bidang patologi tanaman.[7]

Bryan meninggal pada 22 Februari 1962 di Napa, California.[8]
