Masataka Taketsuru (竹鶴 政孝, Taketsuru Masataka, 1894–1979) adalah seorang kimiawan dan pengusaha Jepang yang mendirikan industri whisky Jepang. Ia lahir pada 1894 di Takehara, Hiroshima, dari sebuah keluarga pemilik pabrik sake sejak 1733.
Pengalaman di Skotlandia
Pada Desember 1918, ia tiba di Skotlandia dan mendaftar di Universitas Glasgow, di mana ia mempelajari kimia organik pada musim panas 1919.[1] Taketsuru belajar dibawah Thomas Stewart Patterson, Ketua Gardiner Kimia.
