Membran basal adalah jenis matriks ekstraseluler mirip jaringan yang tipis dan lentur, yang menyediakan sel dan lapisan yang mendukung dan bertindak sebagai platform untuk pensinyalan kompleks.[1][2] Membran basal berada di antara lapisan epitelial yang meliputi mesotelium dan endotelium, dan lapisan konektif bagian bawah.[3][4]
