MetaMask


MetaMask adalah sebuah dompet mata uang kripto yang digunakan untuk berinteraksi dengan rantai blok Ethereum. MetaMask memungkinkan penggunanya untuk mengakses dompet Ethereum melalui ekstensi peramban ataupun melalui aplikasi seluler sehingga dapat berinteraksi dengan decentralized applications.[1][2] MetaMask dikembangkan oleh ConsenSys Software Inc. yang merupakan sebuah perusahaan perangkat lunak rantai blok yang memiliki fokus pada infrastruktur berbasis Ethereum.

MetaMask memungkinkan penggunanya untuk menyimpan dan mengelola kunci-kunci akunnya, menyiarkan transaksi-transaksinya, mengirim dan menerima mata uang kripto dan token-token berbasis Ethereum, dan terhubung secara aman dengan decentralized applications melalui peramban web atau aplikasi seluler.

Sejarah

MetaMask dibuat oleh ConsenSys pada tahun 2016.[3]

Hingga tahun 2019, MetaMask hanya tersedia sebagai ekstensi peramban untuk Google Chrome dan Firefox.

Pada tahun 2019, MetaMask merilis aplikasi seluler untuk pengujian versi beta tertutup. MetaMask untuk iOS dan Android dirilis untuk publik pada bulan September 2020.[2][4]
