Michael Landon Gernhardt (lahir 4 Mei 1956) adalah seorang astronaut NASA dan manajer Laboratorium Fisiologi Lingkungan, dan peneliti utama Prebreathe Reduction Program (PRP) di Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center.[1]
Dari tahun 1977 hingga 1984, Gernhardt bekerja sebagai penyelam profesional dan insinyur proyek di berbagai proyek konstruksi dan perbaikan ladang minyak bawah laut di seluruh dunia. Dia telah mencatat lebih dari 700 penyelaman laut dalam, dan memiliki pengalaman di udara, gas campuran, bounce bell, dan penyelaman saturasi.
