Mingghan

Mingghan (bahasa Mongol Pertengahan: *mïŋgan) adalah unit sosial-militer yang terdiri dari 1000 rumah tangga yang dibentuk oleh Jenghis Khan. Dari kelompok ini dapat direkrut resimen Mongol yang terdiri dari 1000 orang. Ini adalah bagian dari metode pengorganisasian kuno yang dikembangkan oleh para pengembara Asia Tengah berdasarkan sistem desimal.[1] Sebuah Tumen, yang mencakup 10.000 rumah tangga dan tentara,[2] adalah kelompok terbesar dan dibagi menjadi sepuluh mingghan.[1] Sebuah mingghan terdiri dari 10 jaghun[2] atau 100 arban.[3] Sebuah catatan menyebutkan bahwa begitu ia menjadi penjaga, adalah tugas putra komandan mingghan untuk membawa seorang adik laki-laki dan 10 orang lainnya untuk bertugas bersamanya.[4]
