Mount Loretto Unique Area

Pemandangan melintasi Mount Loretto Unique Area; Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne di kejauhan

Mount Loretto Unique Area adalah sebuah cagar terbuka dan cagar alam seluas 194-ekar (0,79 km2) yang dikelola oleh Departemen Konservasi Lingkungan Negara Bagian New York[1] di Staten Island, New York. Mount Loretto memiliki pesisir sepanjang satu mil menghadap Prince's Bay dan Raritan Bay.

Di sepanjang pesisir terdapat bukit curam tepi laut tertinggi di New York setinggi 75 kaki (23 m). Perbukitan curam ini adalah bagian dari terminal moraine, yaitu endapan tanah liat dan kerikil selama masa glasiasi. Masa glasiasi terakhir yaitu Glasier Wisconsin yang ujung selatannya berada di Staten Island. Di titik tertingginya terdapat mercusuar tua bernama Princes Bay Light. Mercusuar batu yang dibangun tahun 1864 bersama rumah penjaganya (dibangun tahun 1868) ini adalah Markah Tanah Negara Bagian New York. Di seberang taman ini terdapat Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne yang pernah digunakan sebagai tempat pengambilan gambar eksterior gereja pada film The Godfather.

Di dalam cagar ini, selain bukit curam tersebut, ada lahan basah air rawa dan air tawar, termasuk sebuah kolam vernal berukuran besar.
