Mualim

Mualim (Master's mate) adalah sebuah pangkat yang dipakai oleh Angkatan Laut Britania Raya, Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat[1] dan layanan niaga di kedua negara tersebut untuk perwira petty senior yang menemani nahkoda. Mualim berevolusi menjadi pangkat modern Sub-Letnan pada Angkatan Laut Britania Raya, sementara pada kapal niaga, mereka berevolusi menjadi perwira atau numbered mates.

Kapal niaga

Pada kapal niaga, mualim adalah perwira yang menjadi bawahan langsung dari nakhoda, dan kerap dibagi berdasarkan senioritasnya, yakni mualim I, mualim II, dan mualim III.[2]
