Nepenthes fractiflexa adalah kantong semar tropis yang endemik di Kalimantan, di mana ia telah tercatat dari sejumlah kecil lokasi di Sarawak dan Kalimantan. Tumbuhan ini tumbuh baik secara terestrial maupun epifit di hutan punggung bukit pada ketinggian 1.400–2.150 m di atas permukaan laut. Nepenthes fractiflexa jauh lebih kecil dibandingkan kerabat terdekatnya, N. mollis. Spesies ini juga berbeda dalam kebiasaan tumbuh dan arsitektur tanaman yang tidak biasa, menghasilkan batang sekunder dengan frekuensi yang jarang terlihat dalam genus ini, serta memiliki tunas aksilar aktif yang umumnya berkembang menjadi braktea seperti profil dengan panjang hingga 5 cm. Selain itu, perbungaan tampak muncul dari tengah ruas batang, alih-alih dari aksil daun seperti yang lazim terjadi pada genus ini; ini adalah spesies Nepenthes pertama yang diusulkan memiliki konkaulesens (sejenis metatopi).[1]
Epitet spesifik fractiflexa, yang dibentuk dari bahasa Latin fractus (patah/retak) dan flexus (bengkok), merujuk pada "batang merambat distikous khas dari spesies ini, yang membengkok secara bergantian pada buku-bukunya membentuk pola zig-zag".[1][2]
Nepenthes fractiflexa telah dinilai secara informal sebagai Hampir Terancam menurut kriteria Daftar Merah IUCN.[1]
