Nilai p

Dalam pengujian hipotesis statistik, nilai atau nilai probabilitas atau signifikansi asimtotik adalah probabilitas untuk suatu model statistik di mana, apabila hipotesis nol benar, maka parameter (misalnya, perbedaan rata-rata sampel antara dua kelompok) akan sama dengan atau lebih besar daripada nilai yang sebenarnya.[1] Penggunaan nilai p dalam pengujian hipotesis statistik sering kali digunakan dalam berbagai bidang penelitian[2] seperti fisika, ekonomi, keuangan, ilmu politik, psikologi,[3] biologi, kriminologi, dan sosiologi.[4]
