Oliver Schmitz (kelahiran 1960) adalah seorang sutradara dan penulis naskah Afrika Selatan. Film buatannya Mapantsula ditayangkan dalam sesi Un Certain Regard di Festival Film Cannes 1988.[1] Film tahun 2010 buatannya Life, Above All juga ditayangkan dalam sesi Un Certain Regard di Festival Film Cannes 2010 dan terpilih sebagai perwakilan Afrika Selatan untuk Film Berbahasa Asing Terbaik di Academy Awards ke-83.[2] Film tersebut masuk daftar pendek nominasi yang diumumkan pada Januari 2011.[3]
