Ottó Bláthy

Ottó Titusz Bláthy

Ottó Titusz Bláthy (1860-1939), adalah seorang insinyur listrik Hungaria. Ia ikut menciptakan transformator listrik, stabilizer, meter watt, motor listrik alternating current (AC), turbogenerator dan turbogenerator yang sangat efisien.

Aplikasi praktis Ottó Titusz dimulai pada masa kerjanya di Ganz Works pada 1883. Ia melakukan sejumlah eksperimen untuk menciptakan transformator. Pada 1885 model transformator alternating current ZBD diciptakan oleh tiga insinyur Hungaria: Ottó Bláthy, Miksa Déri dan Károly Zipernowsky. (ZBD berasal dari inisial nama-nama mereka).

Selain karya-karya ilmiahnya, Ottó Titusz Bláthy juga terkenal sebagai pencipta problem catur. Ia mengkhususkan diri dalam gerak langkah catur yang sangat panjang. Mungkin ia dapat dianggap sebagai pemegang rekor dunia untuk jumlah langkah catur untuk problem-problem ortodoksnya.
