Pachyglossa tenacifolia adalah spesies lumut hati dari Selandia Baru dalam famili Lophocoleaceae.[1]
Deskripsi
Tumbuhan berukuran sedang, tunas selebar sekitar 1 mm dan panjang hingga 11 cm, Pachyglossa tenacifolia sering bercabang dan berwarna gelap (hijau tua hingga hitam). Tidak seperti lumut hati berdaun lainnya dalam famili tersebut, daun lateral P. tenacifolia memiliki ukuran yang serupa dengan daun bawah (underleaves). Sebagian besar cabang berkembang secara lateral dan ventral-interkalar, dan tumbuhan ini memiliki 'stolon', atau cabang mikrofil. Spesies ini mudah dibedakan dari lumut hati lainnya, bahkan di lapangan, karena daunnya yang unik, tebal, dan berdaging dengan dua lapisan sel, serta daun dan daun bawah yang ukurannya hampir identik.[2]
Persebaran dan habitat
Pachyglossa tenacifolia adalah endemik di Selandia Baru dan dapat ditemukan di Pulau Campbell, Kepulauan Auckland, Pulau Stewart, dan bagian barat Pulau Selatan.[2][3] Spesies ini sebagian besar ditemukan di zona pen-alpin ke atas di daratan utama Selandia Baru, tetapi terkadang tumbuh di dekat permukaan laut di Pulau Stewart.[2][4]
