Palmet

Palmet adalah ornamen seni yang berbentuk seperti daun palma.[1] Ornamen ini memiliki sejarah panjang dan dapat ditilik kembali hingga ke zaman Mesir Kuno pada tahun 2.500 SM.[2] Ornamen ini juga banyak digunakan dalam arsitektur Yunani dan Romawi Kuno dan dikenal dengan sebutan anthemion (dari bahasa Yunani ανθέμιον yang berarti "bunga").

Corak palmet juga pernah digunakan untuk menghiasi mosaik, seperti palmet khas Helenistik yang menghiasi empat sudut sebuah mosaik di Delos.[3]
