Parareptilia ("di sisi reptil") adalah subkelas atau klad sauropsida (reptil) basal, biasanya dianggap sebagai takson saudara dari Eureptilia (kelompok yang kemungkinan berisi semua reptil hidup). Parareptil muncul pertama kali saat mendekati akhir dari periode Karbon dan mencapai keragamannya saat periode Permian. Beberapa inovasi ekologis pertama kali terjadi di parareptil dari seluruh reptil. Ini termasuk reptil pertama yang kembali ke ekosistem laut (mesosauria), reptil bipedal pertama (bolosauridae seperti Eudibamus), reptil pertama dengan sistem pendengaran canggih (nycoteroleteridae dan lainnya), dan reptil herbivora pertama (pareiasauria). Satu-satunya kelompok parareptil yang selamat sampai periode Trias adalah procolophonoidea, sekelompok generalis kecil, omnivora dan herbivora. Famili terbesar dari procolophonoidea, procolophonidae, terrediversifikasi di Trias dan terus berhasil sampai kepunahannya di Peristiwa kepunahan Trias-Jura.[2][3]
