Herbert Paul Grice adalah seorang dosen filsafat bahasa di Inggris.[1] Namanya sering dituliskan dengan H. P. Grice, H. Paul Grice, atau Paul Grice.[1] Dia menghabiskan masa berkariernya sekitar dua dekade di Amerika.[2]
Herbert Paul Grice lahir pada 13 Maret 1913 di Birmingham, Inggris.[2] Dia pun meninggal dunia pada 28 Agustus 1988 di Berkeley, California.[2] Dia juga dibesarkan di Inggris.[2] Clifton College tempat dia belajar dan dilanjutkan lagi di Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Dia pernah mengajar di Rossall School dalam waktu yang sangkat.[2] Setelah itu, Dia pergi ke Oxford dan kembali mengajar di sana sampai tahun 1967.[2] Kemudian, Dia pun pindah ke Amerika pada tahun itu juga untuk mengambil gelar Professor di Universitas California, Berkeley.[2] Setelah itu, dia mengajar di sana samapi dia meninggal dunia tahun 1988.[2] Pada tahun 1979, dia kembali ke Inggris untuk memberi mata kuliah John Locke tentang Aspek-aspek Alasan.[2] Dia banyak menulis uraian dan artikel di buku perpisahannya, yang berjudul Studies in the Way of Words dan diterbitkan pada tahun 1989.[2] Dia menikah dan memiliki dua orang anak.[2]
