Pembelotan

Dalam politik, pembelot adalah orang yang menarik persekutuan dengan suatu negara dan kemudian bersekutu dengan negara lain, dengan cara yang dianggap tak sah bagi negara pertamanya.[1] Secara lebih luas, ini melibatkan orang, sebab atau doktrin yang dipegang oleh orang tersebut, seperti halnya persekutuan atau tugas.[2][3]

Istilah tersebut juga sering kali secara peroyatif ditujukan kepada orang yang mengubah loyalitasnya kepada agama, tim olahraga, partai politik atau faksi pesaing lainnya. Dalam esensi tersebut, pembangkang sering kali dianggap menjadi pengkhianat oleh pihak asalnya.[4][5]
