Pembutaan

Pembutaan adalah sebuah jenis hukuman fisik yang mengakibatkan kehilangan penglihatan secara keseluruhan atau sebagian. Tindakan tersebut dipakai sebagai tindak pembalasan dan penyiksaan.[1] Hukuman tersebut telah dilakukan sejak zaman kuno. Mitologi Yunani membuat beberapa rujukan terhadap pembutaan sebagai hukuman ilahi, yang merefleksikan praktik manusia.
