Perovskit adalah sebuah mineral oksida titanium kalsium yang terdiri dari kalsium titanat (CaTiO3). Nama ini juga dapat merujuk kepada sebuah kelompok senyawa yang memiliki struktur kristal yang sama dengan CaTiO3, dikenal sebagai struktur perovskit, yang memiliki rumus kimia A2+B4+(X2−)3.[6] Banyak kation berbeda yang dapat dimasukkan kedalam struktur ini, menungkinkan perkembangkan berbagai material rekayasa.[7]
