Petrosina adalah nama dari subordo dari spons laut haplosclerid. Dimana sub-ordo tersebut termasuk dalam tiga famili.

Taksonomi

Petrosina pertama kali diketahui oleh Nicole Boury-Esnault dan Monique Van Beveren pada tahun 1982. Mereka diklasifikasikan di bawah ordo Haplosclerida dari kelas Demospongiae.[1][2]

Deskripsi

Anggota Petrosina dicirikan oleh kerangka isotropik. spikulanya hampir selalu oxeas halus atau strongyles. Tidak ada perbedaan antara traktus spikula primer dan sekunder atau serat, dan yang terakhir kurang orientasi.[3][4]

Semua anggota subordo dianggap ovipar. Mereka juga biasanya keras atau tidak dapat dimampatkan dalam konsistensi. Kepadatan spicule tinggi dengan sedikit atau tidak ada spongin.[3][4]
