Piacenzium adalah tahap kedua dan terakhir dari kala Pliosen, yang dimulai dari 3.6 juta tahun lalu, 2.58 juta tahun lalu. Sub kala ini ditentukan dengan kronostratigrafi, dan sudah memiliki GSSP (Global Boundary Stratotype Sections and Points).[2] Namanya diambil dari salah satu kota di Spanyol, Piacenzia.
