Platyhystrix (dari bahasa Yunani: πλατύς platús, 'pipih' dan ῠ̔́στρῐξ hústrix, 'landak') adalah sebuah genus amfibi temnospondyl punah yang memiliki layar di punggungnya, seperti yang ditemukan pada synapsida yang tidak berkerabat, yaitu Dimetrodon dan Edaphosaurus. Genus ini hidup selama perbatasan antara penghujung periode Karbon dan periode Perem terawal di wilayah yang kini dikenal sebagai Four Courners, Texas, dan Kansas sekitar 300 juta tahun lalu.

Tidak banyak yang diketahui mengenai Platyhistrix, dengan sebagian besar fosil yang ditemukan dari genus ini terdiri dari duri tulang belakang neural dan fragmen tengkorak yang patah.[1][2][3] Hanya terdapat satu spesies dalam genus ini, yaitu Platyhystrix rugosus. Kekerabatan filogenetikanya terhadap anggota famili Dissorophidae lainnya telah diperdebatkan pada tahun-tahun belakangan karena ciri kranialnya yang khas, dan penemuan-penemuan terkini mengenai asal-usul lissamphibia modern.[4][5] Sinonim dan ejaan lain dari genus ini mencakup: Zatrachys apicalis, Ctenosaurus rugosus, Platyhystryx, Platyhistryx.[6][7][8][1]
