Format

Format untuk Playoff musim ini tetap menggunakan best of seven. Best of seven yang digunakan di Playoff adalah sistem 2-2-1-1-1 (2 pertandingan pertama main kandang, 2 pertandingan berikutnya main tandang, 1 pertandingan berikutnya main di kandang, 1 pertandingan berikutnya lagi main tandang, dan 1 pertandingan terakhir main di kandang). Tim yang telah mencapai 4 kemenangan lebih dulu, berhak menuju babak selanjutnya.

Tim yang berhak main di kandang pertama kali atau mempunyai home court advantage ditentukan berdasarkan pada posisi klasemen tiap wilayah pada musim reguler NBA. Posisi klasemen sendiri biasanya ditentukan lewat rekor menang-kalah setiap tim selama musim reguler.
