Pohon shittah[1] (Ibrani: שטה) atau bentuk jamaknya adalah "shittim" [2] dipakai dalam Tanakh untuk merujuk kepada pohon-pohon yang masuk genus Vachellia dan genus Faidherbia. Faidherbia albida, Vachellia seyal, Vachellia tortilis, dan Vachellia gerrardii dapat ditemukan tumbuh liar di gurun Sinai dan lembah Yordan.

Dalam peristiwa Keluar dari Mesir, bangsa Israel kuno diperintahkan untuk memakai kayu shittah untuk membuat berbagai bagian dari Tabernakel dan Tabut Perjanjian. Tumbuhan tersebut tampaknya adalah Acacia seyal.[3]
