Poste Vaticane

Poste Vaticane adalah organisasi yang bertanggung jawab atas layanan pos di Kota Vatikan. Organisasi ini merupakan bagian dari Dinas Pos dan Telegrafi.

Sejarah

Penggunaan prangko diperkenalkan di Vatikan pada tahun 1852.[1]

Poste Vaticane didirikan pada tahun 1929 setelah Perjanjian Lateran.[2] Poste Vaticane mulai beroperasi pada 1 Agustus 1929 [3] (atau Februari 1929). Kotak surat kuningnya menjadi ikon di lanskap kota kepausan.[4] Poste Vaticane juga menangani komunikasi telegraf negara bagian. Sistem kurir udara didirikan pada tahun 1938. Pada tahun 2020, sebuah undang-undang disahkan untuk menggabungkan kegiatan filateli dan pos Poste Vaticane.[5] Pada September 2020, Poste Vaticane merilis prangko bergambar virus corona.[6]
