Proses sementasi

Proses sementasi merupakan teknologi pembuatan baja yang sudah ketinggalan zaman dengan cara karburisasi besi. Berbeda dengan pembuatan baja modern, hal ini meningkatkan jumlah karbon dalam besi. Tampaknya dikembangkan sebelum abad ke-17. Tungku Baja Derwentcote, dibangun pada tahun 1720, adalah contoh tungku sementasi paling awal yang masih ada. Contoh lain di Inggris adalah tungku sementasi di Doncaster Street, Sheffield.
