Proyek Longshot.

Proyek Longshot adalah rancangan pesawat antarbintang tak berawak yang akan memasuki orbit Alpha Centauri B. Pesawat ini akan menggunakan ledakan nuklir sebagai dorongan. Proyek ini dikembangkan oleh Akademi Angkatan Laut AS dan NASA dari tahun 1987 hingga 1988.

Dengan rata-rata kecepatan 13411 km/s atau sekitar 4,5% kecepatan cahaya, perjalanan ke orbit Alpha Centauri B akan memakan waktu 100 tahun. Pengiriman data ke Bumi sendiri akan memakan waktu 4,39 tahun.
