Punai kecil adalah spesies burung.[1] Ia mempunyai paruh, berdarah panas, dan bereproduksi dengan cara bertelur.
Karakteristik
Punai kecil berukuran sekitar 20-20,5 cm. Pejantannya memiliki tudung abu-abu kebiruan. Bagian atasnya berwarna merah marun dengan penutup dada oranye. Ekornya abu-abu gelap dengan ujung lebih pucat. Betinanya ditandai dengan mahkota abu-abu tua. Bagian atasnya berwarna hijau tua, sedangkan bagian bawah berwarna hijau kusam. Bulu bagian bawah bergaris hijau kekuning-kuningan, dengan bagian luar berwarna kehitaman. Punai kecil remaja semula tampak seperti betina tetapi bagian atasnya sedikit lebih gelap. Mahkota berwarna abu-abu kurang jelas. Punai kecil dapat ditemukan di hutan berdaun lebar. hutan rawa air tawar, hingga 1.220 m.[2]
