Qais 'Ailan

Qais ʿAilān (bahasa Arab: قيس عيلان, Inggris: Kais, Kays) adalah konfederasi suku Arab yang merupakan cabang dari Bani Mudhar. Qais tampaknya bukan merupakan suatu kesatuan pada zaman jahiliah. Namun, pada masa Kekhalifahan Umayyah, suku-suku yang menjadi bagian dari Qais telah bersatu sebagai salah satu faksi utama di kekhalifahan tersebut.

Suku-suku utama dalam kelompok Qais adalah Bani Hawazin, Bani 'Amir, Bani Tsaqif, Bani Sulaim, Bani Ghani, Bahilah, dan Bani Muharib. Banyak dari suku ini yang bermigrasi dari Semenanjung Arab dan menetap di Syam utara dan Mesopotamia Hulu. Kekuatan Qais melemah setelah kebangkitan Kekhalifahan Abbasiyah yang tidak hanya bergantung kepada suku-suku Arab. Walaupun begitu, suku-suku Qais masih menjadi kekuatan yang perlu diperhitungkan dan sebagian dari mereka pindah ke Afrika Utara dan Al-Andalus.
