Rare Bear

Rare Bear adalah pesawat terbang racing yang sangat dimodifikasi dari Grumman F8F Bearcat yang mendominasi Reno Air Races selama beberapa dekade.

Pada 2010 race, Rare Bear selesai di tempat ke 2 di Gold Heat 3A di 447,755 mph (720,6 km / jam). Lomba Gold Final dibatalkan karena kondisi cuaca.

Rare Bear telah menetapkan banyak rekor kinerja untuk pesawat digerakkan piston, termasuk 3 km Dunia Speed Record of 528,33 mph (850,26 km / h) pada 21 Agustus 1989, dan rekor baru waktu-ke-mendaki (3.000 meter di 91,9 detik, memecahkan rekor 1946 Bearcat pada tahun 1972 (6426 fpm 9.842,4 ft).
