Rasio bidang layar monitor komputer atau televisi adalah hubungan perbandingan antara panjang dan lebarnya.[1]Hubungan perbandingan itu dinyatakan dalam angka yang dipisahkan tanda titik dua (x:y).

Rasio bidang layar yang umum digunakan adalah 4:3 dengan resolusi 640×480 (SD), 800×600, dan 1.024×768 serta 16:9 dengan resolusi 1.280×720 (HD), 1.366×768, 1.600×900, 1.920×1.080 (FHD), 2.560×1.440 (QHD), dan 3.840×2.160 (UHD 4K). Layar monitor dengan rasio bidang lebih dari 4:3 disebut juga layar lebar yang biasanya berasio bidang 16:9 atau 16:10. Pada tahun 2008, industri monitor komputer dan televisi mulai beralih dari 4:3 dan 16:10 ke 16:9.[2]
