Utamanya dalam komunitas kulit hitam dan di Amerika Serikat, rest in power (sebuah variasi dari rest in peace) adalah sebuah ekspresi yang dipakai untuk berkabung, mengingat dan memperingati seorang almarhum, khususnya seseorang yang dianggap berjuang melawan prasangka sistemik seperti rasisme dan ketidaksetaraan sosial dan diskriminasi terinstitusionalisasi yang berujung pada kematian mereka. "Rest in power" juga dipakai untuk berbela sungkawa kepada tokoh masyarakat yang membuat perbedaan dalam kehidupan komunitas minoritas.[1]
