Richard James Overy (lahir 23 Desember 1947) adalah seorang sejarawan Inggris yang secara khusus menerbitkan catatan sejarah Perang Dunia II dan Reich Ketiga. Pada 2007, sebagai penyunting The Times dari Complete History of the World, ia terpilih menjadi salah satu dari 50 penulis penting dari sejarah dunia.[1]
